Boxter Plus contains Pretilachlor 37% EW, a broad-spectrum, selective herbicide designed for pre-emergence weed control in transplanted rice. Belonging to the Chloroacetamide group, it inhibits weed growth by interfering with cell division, effectively controlling both grassy and broadleaf weeds. Boxter Plus is applied within 0-5 days of transplanting, providing early protection against weed infestation during the critical stages of rice growth.
Mode Of Action
Pretilachlor 37.0% EW functions by inhibiting the enzyme acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase), which is crucial for the production of very long-chain fatty acids (VLCFAs) in plants. This interference disrupts cell membrane formation and halts cell division, preventing root and shoot development in germinating weeds. Consequently, it offers effective pre-emergence control of both grassy and broadleaf weeds in rice crops.
