Atrafine

(Gibberlic Acid 40% WSG)

Atrafineis a selective pre- and post-emergence herbicide used to control broadleaf and grassy weeds in various crops. It belongs to Herbicide Group 5 (Photosystem II Inhibitors) and is classified as a Triazine herbicide. It is a systemic herbicide, which means that it is taken up by the roots and leaves of the plant and moves throughout the plant, killing it.

Mode Of Action

Atrazine 50% WP works by inhibiting photosystem II (PSII) in plants. It blocks the electron transport chain in the chloroplasts, preventing the conversion of light energy into chemical energy during photosynthesis. This disruption causes the plant to starve, leading to chlorosis, growth inhibition, and eventual plant death.

Key Features and Benefits :

• It is rapidly absorbed by leaves and roots of treated plants.

• It is translocated acropetally in the xylem and accumulate into the growing points.

• Effectively controls both broadleaf and grassy weeds in various crops.

• Provides flexibility in application, controlling weeds at different growth stages.

• The 50% wettable powder (WP) formulation mixes easily and ensures uniform distribution.
